Who’s got it? God’s got it!

Hi everyone! It’s time for a Bible story! This month in chapel at PRLP, we are learning all about how “God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Parents: Feel free to read this story to your children and show them the photos as you go through the story. There are also some fun activities at the bottom of this post that they can do to learn more about how “God’s got it!”

Thanks to www.lootrogames.com for allowing us to use their Biblical Character Images in this blog.

One of the stories we are learning about is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

These three men might have had some funny-sounding names, but God had BIG plans for them!

You see, they loved God and wanted to do what God said to do.

One day, the king who was in charge of everyone and everything in their town

decided he wanted to make a REALLY big golden statue of HIMSELF. WOAH!

The king told everyone that when they heard special music playing

that they had to bow down and worship his REALLY big statue.

The king also said that if anyone didn’t bow down and worship his statue,

he would throw them into FIRE. Oh no!

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not want to be thrown into the fire,

but they knew God had told them not to bow down to a statue.

They were only supposed to bow down to God!

So when the special music played, everyone bowed down to the king’s statue…

EXCEPT Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego!

They did NOT bow down to the statue and the king was VERY angry at them.

He threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fire! OH NO!

But guess what happened? This is the BEST part of the story!

When the king looked into the fire, he saw a FOURTH man standing in the fire.

WHAT?

You see, God sent an angel to protect Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego!

When the king saw this, he told the three men to come out of the fire.

When they did, they were not hurt at all! God had saved them!

After this, the king decided that everyone would stop bowing down to his statue.

They would ONLY bow down to God!

So what does this story mean? It means that “God is with you wherever you go!”

God was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego when they were in a scary place.. and He will be with YOU too!

Remember when you are scared or angry or happy or sad, God is always with you!
